The Meisner Technique Workshop

Meisner Workshop Synopsis:

Mesquite Arts Theatre is proud to present a Meisner intensive workshop with Meisner certified educator Jesse Parr. The class will be a once-a-week intensive workshop for ten weeks on the introductions, foundations, and advanced elements of the Meisner technique. Students will learn such important acting skills as Active Listening, Reactive Acting, Repetition Work, Pinch and Ouch, Character History, Script Analysis, and, in addition to the Meisner technique, Jesse will be teaching his own pedagogy based in the technique: Worlds of the Character. In addition to the core of the curriculum, Jesse will share insider thoughts on the process of creating a character during rehearsal, getting into character before/during a show, and the out-of-rehearsal work required to build a character.
